Top-Down Views
vCharter provides a top-down view of performance for the entire virtual infrastructure in a drill-down display that shows each level beginning with the container. The container level presents a rolled-up layer of performance for the hosts.
Detailed Information
In turn, the host-level view demonstrates vital statistics for each of the virtual machine guests. Each guest can then be selected for additional details for that machine, including the processes running inside the guest.
Alerting
An intelligent alerting engine informs administrators of any potential performance issues. Email alerts can be defined on breached thresholds for any collected metric, with time elapsed variables associated to them.
Reporting
vCharter reports generate on demand or can be scheduled to be automatically emailed to recipients on a regular basis. Reports will generate information from stored metrics, detailing performance across the virtualized infrastructure as well as the host capacity information needed for capacity planning purposes.
Chargeback Utility
vCharter provides an intelligent chargeback engine to segment the costs associated with particular virtual machines. User-defined input regarding the cost of hardware, software and other maintenance needs are combined with collected metrics in the chargeback rules engine. Chargeback reports are useful in defining the cost of a particular virtual machine or host and can be used for capacity planning purposes.
