GOT A NEED FOR SPEED? GET vzBOOST!
Ever wonder why vRanger Pro can copy VMDK files via the COS so fast? The vzboost-vmkmod("vzBoost") module can improve write speeds by as much as 4X. vzBoost is a VMware kernel level driver created by Vizioncore to speed up any type of writes to the VMFS via the Service Console. Companies who are looking for more speed in their backups get a significant advantage by leveraging this kernel driver in vRanger Pro. vzBoost does not affect any writes to the VMs themselves. The vzBoost driver is certified anytime the VMware kernel is modified, so if the driver loads and detects a kernel change, it will not complete the loading process to avoid any issues with the ESX Server host. Vizioncore is currently modifying this module to ensure that vzBoost will continue to work with newer versions of the VMware platform as they are introduced.
